Eine Ergänzung zu den Erik-Nitsche-Postern von neulich, diesmal mit den Originaltexten aus den hoffnungsfrohen 1950ern:
CONSTRUCTIQN DYNAMICS … Urban population explosions and intensified land-use create construction problems of economy and speed. Unique Solution: The combination of Materialite lightweight concrete aggregate, automated mixing plus imaginative manufacturing techniques. Unique Result: Dynacore restressed concrete hollow-core slabs for floors and walls, produced on an assembly line basis in advance – and quickly lifted into place at the construction site.
New applications of the dynamics of the physical world – nuclear fission.
Solar energy and atomic fusion – aided by electric automation may bring us within our lifetime unlimited supplies of power. Consequent transformation of agriculture and industry, medicine and biology, transportation and communication might then free all men from economic and political slavery: unite all nations in an enduring peace.
Third in the “Atoms for peace“ international poster series displayed by General Dynamics at Geneva. Man's last physical frontier is outer space. Advances in atomic technology, rocketry and electronics make interplanetary travel a reality within the next fifty years.
Exploring the Universe: The 4th State of Matter … Earth is composed of three states of matter, liquid, solid, gaseous. Yet most of the universe exist as the fourth state of matter, the plasma state. The bright suns and stars are plasmas – roving, unattached, electrified particles of matter that fuse into new particles on collision, releasing enormous energy. A hydrogen bomb explosion ins an uncontrolled fusion of plasma particles. We seek now to control fusion – to create here on earth the plasmas of suns and stars – to light for all men and nations fires of boundless energy and endless age.
“Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life …
Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind …
Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air …
and over all the earth …
Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.“ (Genesis l.20, 24, 26, 28)
Exploring the Universe: The Energetic Sea … in vessels powered by the airless "burning" of nuclear fuels, man may soon make voyages of discovery to unknown continets that lie beneath the ocean's surface; and, so, prospect for new metals in the waters of, extract new minerals from the mountains of, seek new elements on the shelves and beaches of, herd new flocks to the grasses of, draw new energies from the tides, the waves, the atoms of, the nergetic sea. Economic corollary: The abolition of poverty.
